Before you start monitoring or adding watches for devices you will first need to determine what devices are available on your network for monitoring.

 

The Dart PowerSNMP Network Manager provides a simple user interface to help you discover available SNMP devices and non-SNMP enabled devices on your network.  

 

Discovering SNMP devices

 

Discovering SNMP devices is accomplished through the Add SNMP Agents dialog box.

 

To access this dialog box, select the Discover | SNMP Agents... menu item.

 

 

Discovering non-SNMP devices

 

Non-SNMP devices are found thru the use of ICMP ping messages in the Discover Network Devices dialog box.

 

To access this dialog box, select the Discover | Network Devices... menu item.
