SNMP variable watches allow for monitoring an SNMP variable on an agent at a regular query interval. Optionally an email can be sent if the variable is found to be outside of the specified limit when queried.
There are several ways to add a new SNMP variable watch.
By dragging and dropping a variable in the MIB Window into the Watch Item window. The Add Watch window Variable field will be populated with the selected variable from the MIB Window.
By right clicking a variable in the MIB Window, and selecting Add Watch from the context menu. The Add Watch window Variable field will be populated with the selected variable from the MIB Window.
Selecting the Watch | Add Variable Watch menu item.
By right clicking an SNMP Agent in the Discovered Devices window and selecting Add Watch.

SNMP trap watches allow for email notification or a message popup when the specified trap is received.
Adding a new SNMP trap watch can be done by:
Selecting the Watch | Add Trap Watch menu item.
By dragging and dropping a Trap Item in the MIB Window into the Watch Item window. The Add Trap Window Version and Enterprise/Trap OID field will be populated with the selected trap from the MIB Window.
Right clicking on a Trap item in the MIB Window and selecting the Add Watch from the context menu. The Add Trap Window Version and Enterprise/Trap OID field will be populated with the selected trap from the MIB Window.

Ping watches allow for monitoring device responsiveness for devices that do not have SNMP support. Optionally an email message can be sent if a device does not respond within the specified timeout.
Adding a new Ping watch can be accomplished by:
Selecting the Watch | Add Ping Watch menu item.
Right clicking on a Ping item in the Discovered Devices window and selecting the Add Watch context menu item.
