The PowerSNMP Network Manager MIB Window initially contains a small set of objects that are supported by most devices. To get the most from the application you can load MIB files for devices that are available on your network. Most manufacturers of routers, switches, network appliances, etc publish MIB files for their devices that contain all the settings and variables available for query on a device. By loading these MIB files, the manager can take advantage of the contents of the MIB file and display extended information about variables and Traps. Also by extending the MIB Window, you gain the ability to drag and drop items from the window to the Query window and Watch list which helps save time setting up the manager to monitor your devices.

To load MIB files, select the Tools | MIB Manager menu item. Using the 'Add' link opens the Open File dialog box, within which you can select the files that contain the MIB definitions for your device.
